Why I'm Single: Redefining My Worth and Waiting for Real Love
21 July, 2024
I'm single, but not because I haven't found anyone. It's because every time I think I've found someone, they show me why I'm better off alone. As a woman who's focused on bettering my life, I've learned to reject anything less than what I deserve. I'm not looking for someone to complete me; I'm already whole.
The Standards:
When a man is truly in love with me, I expect certain non-negotiables:
1. *Apologies*: He will own up to his mistakes and make amends.
2. *Sacrifices*: He will put my needs before his own.
3. *Consistency*: He will show up reliably and be present.
4. *Loyalty*: He will stand by me through thick and thin.
5. *Defense*: He will protect and support me unconditionally.
The Real Test:
It's easy to show love when things are easy. But can he still love me when:
- He's overthinking and seeking reassurance?
- He's sending multiple messages, needing constant validation?
- He's struggling to keep up with my growth and progress?
Stay Single Until:
- It feels effortless, like breathing.
- I don't have to constantly remind someone how to treat me right.
- I find someone who knows exactly what I need without me asking.
- I find someone who speaks my love language and makes an effort to learn it.
- I find someone who is willing to compromise and make me feel seen and appreciated.
The Power of Celibacy:
When a woman realizes that there's no man worth her time if he's not improving her life and loving her correctly, celibacy becomes easy. She can go months, even years, without settling for less. It's not about deprivation; it's about self-love and self-respect.
I'm single and I'm okay with that. I'm waiting for someone who will love me correctly, who will meet my standards, and who will make my life better. Until then, I'll focus on myself, my growth, and my happiness. I deserve nothing less.
